For K. Satchidanandan

When you recite a poem-
life breathes
in words
in meters
on the canopy of trees
rises the moon
from the crack of rocks
flowers of joy and sorrow
blossom.
On the waves of blue sea
the meanings ride
in between sea and earth
the light is a sail unfurled.
in your silence too
there rings Sarod
In the mosque of heart
